A Short ‘How’ and ‘What’ of Church Searching

Dan Phillips of Pyromaniacs blog has a common-sense post about finding a church. He lists 17 tips but here are my favorites assuming most Christians know what they’re looking for.

  • Pray, committing yourself to attending a church; and attend somewhere while you look
  • Yellow pages
  • Denominational web sites (— like GARBC, PCA, Reformed Baptists)
  • Google maps, go to your area, enter church
  • Ask pastor friends in other areas if they know anyone in your area

If you need help deciding what to look for in a church, here are a couple of posts to get you started — “Church Search 101” and “Join a church that loves you enough to kick you out.

And if you have some good advice or story of finding a gospel-centered church, please share.
