The Ladies' Room: Episode 175
Jun 02, 2011
A panel of girls discusses (almost) all things female, plus an interview with international fashion model Rachel Lee Carter and a question about the testimonies of Christian artists. Featured musical artist: Nathan Tasker
What's great about being a girl? A panel of women of all ages and stages gathers 'round the table this week to share our hopes and hurdles when it comes to culture, relationships, the baggage we've inherited and the women we want to become.
International fashion model Rachel Lee Carter knows clothes. She also knows what it's like to be told to push the limits of modesty for the sake of sales and success. In her book Fashioned by Faith, Carter helps women see the motivation behind dressing provocatively, then encourages us to change our standards. I interview her about the philosophy of modesty and its practical application. Her friend Ty jumps in for a guy's point of view.
Toppled off the Pedestal
She's concerned that some of her favorite Christian music artists have had less than stellar track records when it comes to living out Christian principles. Should she listen to their music? Plugged In's Adam Holz hearkens back to his album-burning days and tempers them with a new perspective to help us navigate the controversial lyric vs. lifestyle debate.
