Citizen gives you information no one else offers—stories that set the record straight on the issues that affect your family, your neighborhood, and your church—plus stories of local heroes who've overcome great odds (and their own fears) and stood up for the values you cherish, along with practical steps that help you make a difference.

One of those subjects you're never supposed to broach in polite dinner conversation, right? Thankfully we're not eating.

Even Jesus paid homage to Caesar, the thoroughly pagan civil authority of his day. He said in Matthew 22:20-22 we are to do no less,

"and he asked them, 'Whose portrait is this? And whose inscription?'

'Caesar's,' they replied.

Then he said to them, 'Give to Caesar what is Caesar's, and to God what is God's.'

When they heard this, they were amazed. So they left him and went away."

Of course being able to discern what exactly it is we owe to our elected officials and what we owe to God takes wisdom.

Here's where we dig into the nitty gritty of the most controversial subjects: abortion, special rights for gays, just war and more. Convinced that our votes flow from our beliefs -- and that in a Republic we're responsible for the laws and leaders we must follow -- being informed and active is not just a right; it's a sacred duty.
