Being Single

It is an idolatrous belief that marriage will satisfy the longings of our hearts. We’ll only feel complete when we belong to God.

God does tell us to be content, and singleness isn’t exempt from that. But he doesn’t tell us we have to be happy all the time.

As if finding the “perfect” spouse isn’t stressful enough, the pressure surrounding “ring by spring” can add an extra dose of anxiety.

For the Christian, selfishness is never an option. But God promises that we’ll find joy in the midst of sacrifice.
