Dad’s Dating Advice

Today I was deleting some old e-mails and found one my Dad had sent me several years ago. At the time, I was about to go on a first date with a guy I’d met at church. From the e-mail:

Mom told me about this gentleman. He sounds like a good guy. It is always good to expand your friendship base. I have three recommendations for your date:

  1. Relax.
  2. Have fun.
  3. Give him a glimpse of how neat, fun and cool you are.

Dad’s advice made me smile. But it was pretty decent if you ask me. Have your parents offered any good (or bad) dating advice?
