As 2019 comes to a close, we thought it would be fun to take a look back over the year. From jettisoning a toxic roommate to starting a new dating relationship to having a close friend move nearby, some great things happened for our panelists in 2019. The group also faced some tough times and heartache, but as they examine the year behind them and God’s faithfulness in the midst of it, they find hope for an even better year ahead.
Guests: Dale Johnson,
Few of us are certified biblical counselors like Dale Johnson, but we are given regular opportunities to offer feedback, discipleship and correction to other members of the body of Christ. At the same time, we also need other Christians to help us strengthen areas in our lives that need shoring up. Dale, the executive director of the Association of Certified Biblical Counselors, explains how to be part of a healthy, biblical community that encourages, exhorts, and offers grace-filled correction when necessary.
Guests: Glenn Lutjens,
A listener is upset that one of her church leaders recently got his girlfriend pregnant, yet has been allowed to remain in his leadership position. She feels the church is covering up his sexual sin and not addressing it before the congregation. She plans to meet with other church leaders about it, and wants to know how to handle the situation with grace while dealing with the frustration and disappointment she’s feeling toward her church. Counselor Glenn Lutjens weighs in.
