When Lamar and Ronnie Tyler announced they were getting married, their friends rolled their eyes and said, “Don’t do it! Don’t make that mistake!” The couple was surrounded by marriage naysayers and had to buck discouraging marriage statistics for black couples. Still, they felt God calling them to tie the knot. After some rough early years, struggles with blending their family, and very little support from anyone, Lamar and Ronnie have emerged stronger and more passionate about marriage than ever. Now they run Black and Married With Kids to show that a happy, healthy marriage is possible — no matter what anyone says.
