I’m two years out of my 20s … some of my very favorite years of my life. But I have also enjoyed my 30s. Here are 32 things I’ve done in my life so far (in no particular order):
Broken my foot. Taken handwriting lessons. Accepted Jesus my Savior. Showed my horse at the fair. Got bitten by an ostrich. Performed in “Fiddler on the Roof.” Went to college. Had Lyme disease. Rode in a limousine. Got a job as an editor. Had a cavity filled. Lived with six roommates. Sky-dived. Directed a play. Led a child to Christ. Ran a half-marathon. Became an aunt. Went to Russia. Visited Canada. Met Steven Curtis Chapman. Rode a Zamboni. Won a rap contest. Been featured as a “man on the street” in the TV news. Started a blog. Interviewed the Jonas Brothers. Bought a house. Sold beauty products. Spent three days in New York. Fallen in love. Written a book. Gotten married. Had 32 birthdays!
It’s cliche … but life is a gift. Some things on the list above were exciting experiences. Others were painful seasons. Still others were accomplishments that I worked and prayed over. But each event or experience was one that God brought into my life. What is your list? Today may not be your birthday, but what are some of the great things — big or small — that God has allowed you to do?
