Several months ago after turning 40, I challenged myself to go on 40 dates in one year. With the speed dating event, I was up to 13 dates so far.
My healing has been a long journey. Though I no longer struggle with bulimia, I will struggle with self-image for the rest of my life.
A broken heart doesn’t mean you guys did something wrong. Great pain comes from great risk— and so does great possibilities.
We spend a lot of time preparing for marriage, but it’s possible we’re actually over-preparing and under-engaging.
I could’ve asked him for clarification, said no to lunch dates and ignored his flirty texts. But I didn’t. And that is all on me.
If you don’t like who you are, you’re probably willing to deceive someone rather than be honest about your own life. This is a problem.
When genuine relationships feel out of reach, I’m tempted to settle for the superficial, because something is better than nothing, right?
What are we missing when we judge a book, or a person, by its cover? Maybe some things require a second (or third) look?
