“You’re a human being, not a human doing,” someone wrote to a graduate I knew. I guess my attempts, even ones that feel like failure, can have some value.
Because we are now united with Christ, we hate the sin that remains in our lives and we actively fight against it.
A mentor is not there to diagnose problems you may present. Their main objective is to listen, engage, pray for you and offer wisdom.
We have a limited capacity that will only expand as we choose to be curious about racial inequality, rather than assuming we get it.
If you find yourself with zero motivation, you may need to start pushing yourself. But if you struggle to rest, force yourself to set some boundaries.
Through a smile, a kind word — or even a fist bump — I can show people that they are important, created in God’s image.
