Not caring about appearances is hard. Surrounded by perfect figures from Hollywood, I’m plagued by messages saying physical beauty is how you attract love.
How can we acknowledge that life is a wonderful blessing when it isn’t always merry and bright? Is it OK to at times just be OK?
In the same way that pornography can set up false ideals of sex, idealized love stories build up expectations for love that are unlikely to be met.
A strong case can be made for churches having a singles ministry, but can having one unintentionally ostracize singles from the rest of their church family?
